2 more done!

So, you all know that I've been working on 100 lo's before I go on another shopping spree. Well, I don't know what's going to come first...100 lo's or the baby! Probably the baby, and I did tell hubby that I'd like to go shopping after the baby's born for baby supplies. And, I also told him that for my birthday (which is in October--never too early to say anything right?) That I wanted some type of die-cutting machine. Weather it be the Cricut, or the Cuddlebug (which I'm back to loving that) or the Making Memories Slice. Hmm...can I have all three?....

Anyway, Here are some more lo's I've done for my 100 page lo goal.

So I came across this blog the other day luv2scrappp.blogspot.com and came across that the lady did a 6x12 lo for a challenge. So, being inspired by her...Thank You Jackie G...I decided to try my hand on something different and did my own 6x12 lo. It was fun, and unique. It was also challenging, but not at the same time. Don't know if that makes sense!

Anyway, both lo's were of my cousin Mikayla's 3rd birthday in August of 2007.

And if you've been wondering where I've been...went to MD over the last weekend, been trying to get caught up with things around here, doing some baby laundry, and now trying to work on a newsletter for our church. Pray all goes well with that!

Hope you enjoy the lo's!

Busy Day!

Busy busy day!

My dad is on the way up with an A/C...YAY! Gotta love dads! They're awesome! Maybe my prego feet won't swell so much in the apartment now.

Doctor's appt. @ 3, hopefully some grocery shopping, and then off to Bible study!

I'd share some pictures of my feet, but alas, I think I broke my computer! Hubby will have to fix it when he gets home...or sometime today! So I'm currently making use of his computer.

How is it possible to me so thankful and yet sometimes so frustrated with having an IT guy for a husband?

Anybody need a good IT person?

Have a good one!

Goals

What have I done?

I must admit, I've never one to be selfish or so I thought, until just the other day when I spent more money on some scrapbooking stuff. It wasn't a lot mind. Just enough to make me feel like crap with a baby on the way and finances already tight as they are.

So, since I stalk the CK message board on a regular basis, I came across some people who did a 100 page dash to use your stash. Now, since I wasn't part of this originally, I'm not sure exactly what goes on, but my general assumption is that you aren't allowed to purchase any scrapbooking supplies until you have 100 pages done.

So, since I've been rather selfish in that area, after talking with my husband, he agreed with my new goal, that I gave myself. The only thing allowed for purchase is adhesive, well, because unfortunately I don't keep that on hand. Though I should. Anyway, I have two layouts done so far! Whoo hoo!

Here is the first:

This is from our honeymoon. These are my husband yes...I thought it quite humorous to make him "queen" for the day! I also did this one for a contest on http://useyourstash.blogspot.com/
But I decided on using the one I did for my sisters Bday instead.

The question is now: Will I make it through 100 layouts, or will I cave before then? or even worse...will I run out of paper????

Again,
What have I done?

Hot, Hotter, Hottest...

My mother warned me.

Did I listen?

Don't think so.

Not on purpose though.

I can't help we got pregnant when we did!

So, this is what I did on Saturday!

OOOPPS!!!!

For a challenge

I stumbled across this site/link while scoping the Creating Keepsakes Message Boards.

http://useyourstash.blogspot.com

and I did the challenge. Here is my take on using letter stickers!

This was from my sister Tasha's BDay in November of 2006. The letter stickers that I used spell the word CAKE. I'm not sure what brand anymore, but I know that I bought them at walmart, probably a good 5-6 years ago when I first started scrapbooking!
Journaling says :
"November 2006-Tasha's 21st Bday. Mom, dad, Tracey, Mindi, Wes, Emily, Mikayla, and I all went down to Kutztown to surprise Tasha. Unfortunately she caught on to the fake cake even before trying to cut it."

Yes, a fake cake, made out of foam and decorated to look like a real cake! No one said anything, but she just knew!

I apologize for the somewhat crookedness of the photo. I do not have a scanner to scan pages that big. I do have a regular scanner, but I'm not sure how I would stitch the two pieces together. If anyone knows how, shoot me an email!

NEW LO!

May has been a very insanely busy month around here! I'm glad it's almost over.

Well, in case you have been wondering where I've been lurking in between doctor's appointments, Bible Studies, Church, College graduations, Birthdays, weekend trip to MD to see the in-laws, parenting classes, and such, I've been lurking on the heroarts website. They have a new blog and things are pretty awesome over there. In fact, I came across a challenge that I participated in. We won't know the winners until tomorrow (thursday May 22) but I thought I'd share my lo I did! It was for a background challenge using a heroarts stamp as the main image.

The heroarts stamp I used is called designblock stencil. I LOVE it! Do you think my husband would mind if I married it? Anyway, I stamped with different colored inks on white cardstock, and then matted it to PP from doodlebug called 306 dots and daises.

Here is a better description:

For the Hero Arts Challenge of Backgrounds. On the white cardstock, I used the HeroArts DesignBlocks Stencil (which I just bought Thursday May 15, and absolutely LOVE!) I inked the stamped with both Tsukinkeo VersaMagic chalk inks and Colorbox Fluid Chalk Cats Eye Queue and Colorbox pigment Cats Eye Queues. I Love how it turned out! That was my main background, then I trimmed it to fit on Doodlebug PP called 306 dots and daises.
The phrase is from PP from Around The Block, titled Character is Power.
The Ribbon is Sweet Treat Ribbon.
Flowers are Prima Fall #1
Brads are Crystal Brads from Picture Perfect.

The girl is my cousin who is now 6. I believe is was around 2/2.5ish in this picture.

So without further ado, the lo:

I was so proud of myself! This lo only take an hour for me to do! Normally it can take me anywhere from 2 hours to a week to do a page!

And to leave you with some eye candy photos: My husband and I went on a hike at Robert H. Treman state park in Ithaca, NY. About an hour from us. Beautiful! Between the two of us, we took over 300 some photos! Anyway, I thought I'd share some of the pics!

Hope you enjoyed your virtual hike!

Yes, I'll admit, my blog sucks! Can you blame a girl though? I've been sick the past week, and before that, we had really super awesome weather for like two weeks straight! It was awesome. I spent as much time outside as I could. In fact, the weather was so nice that I didn't even scrapbook for those two weeks, plus this last week that I've been sick...three weeks without being sticky! Yikes!

However, I did do some painting last night for a project being held on the creatingkeepsakes website. Check it out @ www.creatingkeepsakes.com

Although I won't be actually doing the project at the same time as I'm going to a scrapbook day crop at our pastor's house. It's been forever since I've been to a crop! I was going through my stuff last night to pick out what I was going to work on. No wonder why I haven't gone to a crop in awhile! Holy Crop! I have so much stuff, all organized in bins and drawers that my husband got me for Christmas, that it was hard deciding what to pack...and I needed to pack light as the crop is only 1-4 pm! For me, I don't think I did half bad packing, actually!

So, I'm hoping to get a few pages done today! That will be awesome because sometimes it takes me a day or two to do one page! Pray that I get some pages done!

I'll post some pictures later!

Catch ya'll later!

Yay, I'm posting again

Ok, by now, you all probably think my blog totally sucks. Well, somedays, it is true, that I just don't feel like posting. I have to get away from that though. However, other days, I'm busy around the house, at least trying to keep it clean...(mom, you may insert laugh here).

Anyway, I really haven't posted because I really don't have any new projects to share with you at this exact moment. I do need to take a few pictures of certain things, like the car seat we wanted that we found at Big Lots for $80 compared to $160 @ Wal-mart. Yeah, kind of been meaning to take pictures of it so I could post the story here and in the baby's book. Haven't done it yet. Call me a slacker.

As for new LO's well, I haven't been working on our honeymoon since the past week. Why? I've been working on some super, secret projects! My lips are sealed!

So, I'd thought I'd try to find something to post for you anyway. A picture or two. It may not have anything related to what I'm blabbering on about, but I'll at least post them.

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I have posted this LO. This was the very first honeymoon layout I did. I was in a creative rut, and told my hubby to go in the scraproom, pick out some paper and embellishments, in hopes that would jump start my creativity. At first he picked out some Christmas embellies, and I thought OooooooooooKKKKaaaayyyyy! So I asked him if he really wanted me to use the Christmas ones on our honeymoon LO's. So he told me to pick the embellishments. It was definitely a challenge, and I think I used just about everything in my stash! It's not the greatest, but it was a starting place, and that's what I needed. So, without further ado, here was my first honeymoon LO.

And to leave you with some humor....

Yes, that's my husband, "walking the cat." That is our cat Solomon! We intended for both our kitties to be inside kitties, and had them both de-clawed. That does come in handy when you rent! And since the weather has been warming up, and I feel cooped up sometimes, I'm sure they must feel the same. So we bought leashes for their collars, and took him outside! He loves it! But he knows he can't go outside without his harness now. (We had some problems with the breakaway collars, so we bought a cat harness). It's amazing what this cat will do to get outside now! Sounds like a scrapbook page to me....

oi!

So, I spent two, yes, two hours at the vets office this morning with this little guy...

yes, he's not so little anymore! He'll be a year in July, and he already weighs in @ 9lbs 10oz. Craziness. But, he will be ok with the meds. Good thing, because this little guy is very much loved! He's not very photo-genic though.

On other notes, who knew there was a difference between just feeling the baby move and the baby actually kicking! I didn't until the other night! Of course, this is only my first pregnancy! After DH left for work at 3:40am, I stretched out in the bed, and out of habit laid my hand on my belly. Lo and behold, I felt the baby kick my hand! The baby had never done that before! Wow! What an absolutely amazing feeling! I never want it to stop--at least right now. I might change my mind when I'm 8 months along and the baby stretches so much that it's foot will come through my belly button. Ah, the joys of mommy-dom.

Speaking of baby, here is the stuff my sister surprised me with the other day...

Isn't this little guy just too stinkin' adorable?! Eventually, they will be printed and scrapbooked for the baby's album. This is his/hers first stuffed animal! I just love him!

And here I am, at 21 weeks: (Brace yourself!) This is the first, (yes, first) picture of me being pregnant! I have no photos of being 3 months pregnant for the baby. Hubby said though I could just sit on the floor and bend over the toilet, as that's what I did for the first three months!

Ok, enough baby for now. I have promised you some more lo's and ta-da...here are some more. Again, most of these are from our honeymoon!

This was at the Massanutten Resort Water Park! Even if I don't look like a supermodel in a bathing suit (and probably never will) I love swimming and the water!

This is from Brookside Gardens, in Wheaton, MD. This was our first stop on our honeymoon. I wanted to use these pictures together, because they were all part of the Teahouse, but they just were not working. Then one day, I went to a fun scrapbook easter egg hunt, and bought these papers, and it was a miracle! It came together lickety-split. It's amazing what the right paper will do! It was also hard because the main focal photo is black and white and the rest are colored.

This too was from Brookside Gardens. It was a really neat Botanical Garden setting! Just totally awesome. And it's not far from where my in-laws live, so I'm hoping when the weather warms up, we can visit again! Nothing like seeing God's handi-work in action!

I am running out of lo's to post! I guess this means I better start scrapping! Hop to, chop chop!

Happy Scrappin ya'll!

Posting Pics! Yay!

Ok, so hubby finally showed me how to add my lo's to the post! Yay! It will give me something to do on this rainy day here in NY.

This LO is a page from our honeymoon. We went to Virginia, and then spent the last night in NYC. This day was spent in just a fraction of Central Park. These pictures were taken from the carriage ride we took.

As for this one, I'm not sure if I like the minimalist look or not. It was very simple for me, which was a challenge in itself for me. I like lots of paper, especially patterned paper, so I'm not sure if this needs something else or not. What do you think? Shoot me an email at mrscreativity@tarren.biz and let me know! I'm open to ideas/constructive criticism. Of course, compliments are always welcome too ;)

Ok, if I had to pick which is my favorite NY City layout, it would be a toss up. It would either be the one titled "Be Your Own Star" or this one! I was absolutely tickled pick with this one! I love the grungy feel of it too!

I was pretty happy with this one as well. The lighting seems kind of dark, and I apologize for that. And as I mentioned before, I love patterned paper! Can a girl ever have too much???

Journaling Reads: "I've always hated the city. Nothing against the people there, but I'm a country girl. I did, however trek there for Broadway."

Speaking of Broadway-that's where we spent our last night (and probably our most expensive), was in NYC to see....(insert Drum Roll Here)

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Journaling reads: "This was our second to last night on our honeymoon. And probably the most expensive. It was all worth it thought to finally see THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA."

Again, here, this was very challenging for me because it was such a simple LO.

If you are wondering, I've been scrapping for 6 years now, and my crafting is just now starting to be where I'd like it to be.

Well, I will post more later. I don't want to overload the blog!

Have a peach-y-rific day!

Where is the Sandman?

Ok, can I just say that if we weren't in massive debt, I'd be sleeping on one of those wonderful sleep number beds??!! BTW, my sleep # is 55 for anyone who was wondering. Yes, hubby and I tested out a few of them before we got married. Alas, the $7,000 was spent on the wedding instead. Yes, I said $7,000 for a bed! It was so amazing though. And, being pregnant (22 weeks), I wouldn't be up at 4:30 am (eastern time) with a massively aching hip and leg! Mind you, we got a great deal on the queen size bed we have, the first new bed I've had since I was a young'un. I mean, new bed with new box springs and mattress, all at the same time.

So, here I am, at not even the crack of dawn, blogging, wondering if sleep will ever be possible again...my hypothesis is....NO! I am sure it will all be worth it though! Speaking of which, I know I said I would post some pics, and I WILL, I promise. The technical stuff is my hubby's job, and well, he works from 4am until usually 1pm, and comes home and takes a nap. I can't blame him. He does work hard. I love him so much! And last night, he did our taxes, so I can't complain about that. I'd rather those be done than some pics posted.

But just wait until you see some of the stuff! Although I am no where near any of the masters I idolize http://www.memorymakersmagazine.com/crystaljeffreyrieger/ I hope you will be inspired nonetheless.

MIA

So, I've been MIA for a few days. Spent Easter with the folks, going back to our home church. Nice Surprise, my sister surprised my hubby and I with a diaper bag full of goodies for the baby on the way. Girl? Boy? We don't want to know, and God doesn't want us to know either. Though I had given in to my mom, who went to the last ultrasound with us, I told her the technician could write the gender on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. Ha ha, the joke was on her though. The baby had his/her feet crossed at the ankles and pulled right up tight, so not even the technician could tell! Thank God for small miracles and answered prayers! I know if mom knows, then everyone wants to know...NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE is knowing!

Ok, I know that doesn't seem very scrapbook related, but it is, believe me. These are the things that I will scrap and put in the baby's book.

Time to get the mail and some lunch. When hubby gets home from work, we'll take some pictures and post them!

Welcome

Welcome to Sticky Fingers, the blog created by Tarren Young, in honor of her hobby/passion scrapbooking! Don't let the title fool you, I'm in no way, a purloiner (vocab word of the day), but often, I do find myself with very, very sticky fingers!

As of right now, this blog doesn't offer much, but it will. Check back often, please. You will find all sorts of things related to scrapbooking, including challenges, writing/journaling prompts (as writing is a second passion of mine) (the fire does need to be rekindled though), and hopefully, some of my work will be posted.

You will also find devotionals here as well. As I am in a very deep relationship with Christ. Do not worry though. This will not be religion. That's why I love being a Christian. It's not about politics or things like that, that get in the way of knowing Jesus Christ our Savior. Knowing Jesus Christ our Savior, and being a Christian is about a relationship with Christ.

There will be many things to look forward too, so please STICK around!! (ha ha, I made a funny!)
....sorry, I have a corny sense of humor.
